W HOTEL EDINBURGH

Summary

I was approached by Rebecca Moyes from Threebrand to help animate an illustration for the launch of the W Hotel, Marriott Hotel’s newest property in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The concept involved transforming a 2D illustration of the hotel’s signature 'spiral' design into a dynamic 3D space. From the original poster, five different versions were adapted for various locations, including the hotel’s lift.

To bring the design to life, I recreated the 2D spiral in Cinema 4D, stretching the shape vertically before returning it to its original form. I then used dynamic camera angles to showcase the swirling lines from exciting perspectives. Finally, I composited the animation in After Effects, adding elegant movements for the text and logo to create a polished and engaging final product.
